Sun Craft

Submitted by Sylvia on Thu, 05/28/2020 - 09:04

Hello TK Families.  Use the art supplies that you have available at home to make a sun craft. I made my sun craft into a shaker using two paper plates that I stapled together leaving a small gap to add some rice and beans. Then I made sure that the plate was securely stapled all the way around. Here is a picture of where I got my inspiration.

Have fun and I can't wait to see your sun craft.

You can use crayons, paints, markers, colored pencils, magazine clippings, construction paper, paper plates, or any supplies you have at home.

Baa Baa Black Sheep

Submitted by kristina on Wed, 05/13/2020 - 10:21

Kristina sings Baa Baa Black Sheep and reads the little book. Your challenge is to write a word that starts with "SH" and one that ends with "SH." Remember, we are practicing listening for sounds in words, so use your TK writing strategies. Say the word slowly and write down any sounds you hear. Grown up spelling is for grown ups!

Draw a picture of your story using a lot of details.  Write your story using your TK writing.  It is important for us to use our TK writing. The spelling is not important. When we say the words slowly and write the letter sounds that we hear then our brains are working and getting stronger. This helps develop our letter-sound knowledge.

My Spring Book

Submitted by kristina on Thu, 05/07/2020 - 12:28

Kristina reads "My Spring Book" with you. Find this little book at the very end of the April 13 packet. If you don't have a copy, don't worry you can read along with Kristina. Fill in the last page with your own idea or write "In spring I can see ______" on another paper. Fill in something you can see in spring. Don't forget to use your TK writing and sound out the words, that's how we learn to read and write.
